Please visit our team pages (under the Age Groups heading) for more information about the various leagues, tournaments and knock-out competitions that we enter in each age group. We also have a large adult section and youngsters can play in the senior teams from the age of thirteen.
Our focus is on offering opportunities for children to play hockey in Oxford, whatever their ability or previous level of experience. We run weekly academy training, with high-level coaches, including international players, but also arrange friendly fixtures against other clubs for all age groups. All our players get the chance to play in an appropriate team, suitable for their age and ability.
Oxford Hockey Club is accredited with England Hockey’s ClubsFirst award which means we are safe, effective and child-friendly. We were only the sixth club in the country to achieve this standard and the first one in Oxford. All our lead coaches hold England Hockey’s coaching qualifications.
The club was formed in 2011 when City of Oxford and Rover Oxford Hockey Clubs joined forces - our combined resources means that we can offer better training resources and great value for money. We are based in Headington, using Oxford Brookes University sports centre and Headington Girls' School as our two main home astroturf pitches.
